Sea Turtle Fun Facts:

• Did you know that sea turtles can’t retract their heads back into their shells to escape predators, like smaller freshwater turtles can.

• Some sea turtles are over 100 years old!
  • Fewer and fewer make it to that age though due to increased human interference. For example, drowning from entanglement of garbage in our ocean, or even fishing gear.  They also die from poaching, plastic ingestion (thinking the floating garbage is food) and coastal development (loss of nesting habitat).

• Sharks think they are a tasty treat. (Now you know how Bruce was able to not eat fish for so long ;0)
